About Oxygen Free Copper
Oxygen free copper (OFC), also referred to as oxygen free high conductivity (OFHC) copper, refers to a group of copper alloys (wrought high conductivity) that are electrolytically refined for the reduction of oxygen levels to a bare 0.001% or below. Oxygen free copper is manufactured in equipment that sustains the molten metal that has been protected from exposure or contact with air during the process of oxygen content removal. The cathode copper that is selected is directly converted into required cast shapes, thereby eliminating the contamination of electrolytic copper in pure form. This production process ensures a high-quality metal containing copper in the range 99.95%-99.99%. Oxygen free copper demonstrates the properties of pure copper and is available in many forms, including profiles, strip, bar, sheet, rod, plate, wire, and tube.
