However, MIMO technology requires a lot of computing resources, and in an all-optical network with a large number of optical add-drop multiplexers, different transmission links will generate different inter-core crosstalk components, and the received signal will be affected by each crosstalk component. This will make the process of using MIMO technology to solve the crosstalk between cores very difficult.
    In addition, some studies have pointed out that by solving the coupled mode equation and using a synchronous multi-channel optical time domain reflectometer, the optical coupling of multi-core fibers can be obtained to calculate the overall distribution of inter-core crosstalk. Based on this method, in future research on inter-core crosstalk, people can propose more effective and targeted crosstalk solutions based on the accurately calculated inter-core crosstalk distribution results.
